GPSA Survey Single Employer Model

Report on 2021 GPSA supervisor survey Part 2: The single-employer model

There is strong policy debate about adopting a single-employer model for GP registrars, which involves registrars being employed by an entity outside of the practice where they are training, on a salary.  Results from the 2021 GP Supervisors Australia (GPSA) Annual Survey exploring the views of training practices on the single employer model for registrars, have found that most of the GP Supervisor members surveyed were unaware of the model, and fewer supported it. The survey found that less than 20% of GPSA members surveyed had knowledge of the single-employer model, and when we explained it in brief, only 18% supported it.
