Supervisors must ensure that doctors under their supervision only manage patients they are competent to manage. A doctor in training doesn’t always know when they should call for help and may be reluctant to seek help when they should. This webinar will explain the ‘call for help’ list for Australian doctors in training that was recently developed through research with supervisors and registrars. We will report on the expected and unexpected findings, and outline how the list can be used by supervisors. We will also consider other ways to make sure supervised doctors are ‘safe in there’.
